Lago Mulargia
Il lago Mulargia è uno specchio d’acqua che si estende nei territori di Orroli, Goni, Nurri e Siurgus Donigala. Occupa la conca fra la Trexenta, il Gerrei e il Sarcidano ed è circondato da rigogliosi colli verdeggianti.
Il Mulargia è caratterizzato da coste frastagliate e al suo interno è ornato da molti isolotti, che creano il suggestivo effetto cromatico di un’enorme macchia azzurra immersa nel verde. Nelle sue acque è possibile praticare pesca sportiva, escursioni in canoa o in kayak.
Si tratta di un lago artificiale, realizzato tra il 1951 e il 1958, di grande importanza idrica perchè alimenta gli acquedotti di ben 30 comuni.
Sul lago Mulargia è possibile praticare la pesca sportiva, fare escursioni in canoa o in kayak, o un giro in barca fra le splendide insenature. Navigando sottocosta si può proseguire a piedi e inerpicarsi per i sentieri immersi nel verde ed esplorare gli angoli più nascosti.
Organizzare un’escursione per visitare una delle oasi naturalistiche più importanti della Sardegna è certamente un’esperienza da non perdere: durante il tragitto in canoa o in barca, infatti, è facile avvistare falchetti che volteggiano sopra la distesa d’acqua e non è improbabile incontrare cinghiali che scendono ad abbeverarsi lungo le sponde del lago.
Le escursioni sono brevi o lunghe un’intera giornata e prevedono soste nelle innumerevoli insenature e “calette” del lago, per ammirare le bellezze naturali.
Pesci presenti: Carpe di ogni tipo di grosse dimensioni, Black Bass, Persico Reale, Luccio, Agone, aimè si segnala anche la presenza del Siluro.
Lake Mulargia is a mirror of water that extends into the territories of Orroli, Goni, Nurri and Siurgus Donigala. It occupies the depression between Trexenta, Gerrei and Sarcidano and is surrounded by lush green hills.
The Mulargia is characterized by jagged coastlines and inside it is adorned with many islets, which create the striking color effect of an enormous blue spot surrounded by greenery. In its waters it is possible to practice sport fishing, canoeing or kayaking.
It is an artificial lake, built between 1951 and 1958, of great water importance because it feeds the aqueducts of 30 municipalities.
On Lake Mulargia it is possible to practice sport fishing, canoeing or kayaking, or a ride by boat through the beautiful coves. Sailing below the coast you can continue on foot and climb up the paths surrounded by greenery and explore the most hidden corners.
Organizing an excursion to visit one of the most important naturalistic oases of Sardinia is certainly an experience not to be missed: during the journey by canoe or boat, in fact, it is easy to spot hawks circling over the expanse of water and it is not unusual to meet wild boars that descend to drink along the shores of the lake.
The excursions are short or long a whole day and include stops in the countless inlets and “coves” of the lake, to admire the natural beauty.
Present fishes: Carp of all types of large size, Black Bass, Perch, Pike, Agon, unfortunately there’s also the presence of the Catfish.
